📸 Session Day Guide – Perla Bisono Photography
Yay! The big day is almost here! 🎉
I’m honored to capture this special milestone for your little one. Please review these important guidelines to ensure a smooth and fun session.
📍 247 Centre Street, Nutley, NJ 07110
We’re on the first level, next to Green Tea Nail Salon.
Park on the street and send me a DM or message once you arrive.
Wait for my reply in the car before coming in even if its your session time.
If you’re early, please text before entering.
No strollers needed inside unless raining. Car seat OK.
1. Baby Grooming
Arrive with baby’s nails clipped and clean.
Make sure hair is neat and not covering the eyes.
If a haircut is needed, schedule it a week before the session.
If you prefer not to cut the hair, please keep it brushed back. Any hair falling into the eyes will naturally show in photos.
For girls, special hair styles must be done at home and retouched at the studio quickly.
Nail polished on babies and bigger kids won’t be retouched or removed on editing.
These rules may also apply for adults.
2. Outfit Fit & Preparation
If bringing your own outfit, try it on at home first.
Check that sleeves/pant legs are not too long and that it closes properly.
Avoid buying a larger size “to grow into”—outfits should fit true to size for photos.
Do any adjustments (pins, clips, etc.) at home before arriving.
3. Closet Access
Clients may use the studio closet.
Closet availability is as-is—not all preferences can be accommodated.
Most of the outfits in my closet are glam pageant-style tutu rompers for girls,
and classic shorts with suspenders and bow ties for boys. Rompers and some themed related outfits are also available.
4. Background Confirmation
Once a background/theme is confirmed, it cannot be changed. Please decide before finalizing. The sooner you confirm, the better we prepare!
Customizations might be limited for last minute bookings.
5. Cake Policy
For Cake Smash, a standard-flavor cake is included with your session and will be decorated according to the theme, at our discretion.
For Kid’s Birthday, this type of cake must be added for $35.
For all sessions, if your baby has allergies, allergy-friendly or specialty cakes are available as an add-on for an additional $75 at checkout.
6. Baby’s Sleep
Make sure your baby naps before the session. This is very important.
A well-rested baby = a smoother, happier photoshoot.
7. Crying is Normal
It’s natural for kids to cry in new environments.
Rested babies are easier to comfort with snacks or songs.
If baby is overtired, crying may be harder to manage.
Reschedules are not offered for crying, as it usually repeats.
8. Limited Guests
Only two adults (mom and dad preferably) may attend.
Children not being photographed are not allowed.
This ensures safety, focus, and a smooth process for your one-year-old.
9. What to Bring
For One year olds, recommended to bring at least one outfit for baby that matches the theme (a backup is a good idea).
Baby’s essentials: Snacks ( Gerber puffs or crackers), milk, towel, one small toy, teething treatment.
Change of clothes for parents (cake can get messy).
Comfortable clothing—you’ll be moving around.
